Crude oil futures fall on weak domestic cues

Crude oil futures on Thursday fell by Rs 9 to Rs 4,089 per barrel after participants reduced positions even as the oil prices gained overseas.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil prices for December delivery dropped by Rs 9, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 4,089 per barrel with a business volume of 19,048 lots.

Similarly, crude oil for January delivery was quoting lower by Rs 6, or 0.15 per cent, at Rs 4,096 per barrel with an open interest of 218 lots.

Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading 3.44 per cent up at USD 57 per barrel, while international benchmark Brent Crude traded lower by 0.32 per cent at USD 62.20 per barrel in New York.
