Crude oil futures rose 1.19 per cent to Rs 4,414 per barrel Monday after participants widened their bets, tracking a firm trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in April was trading higher by Rs 52, or 1.19 per cent, at Rs 4,414 per barrel with a business turnover of 24,198 lots.
The crude for delivery in May also edged higher by Rs 49, or 1.12 per cent, to Rs 4,434 per barrel with a business volume of 29 lots.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude rose 0.40 per cent to USD 63.33 per barrel, while Brent crude, the international benchmark, was up 0.37 per cent to USD 70.60 per barrel.
