The CSE-40 index closed at 6745.54 points after opening at 6798.79 points.

Infosys Technologies gained 10 paise and closed at Rs 2507.30.

Reliance Industries gained Rs 1.90 after opening at Rs 816. The scrip closed at Rs 818.

State Bank of India lost 70 paise and closed at Rs 2279.95.

Tata Steel lost 80 paise and closed at Rs 411.
