Contermporary Bengali film directors lauded the first chick film in Bengali Aami Aar Amaar Girlfriends saying there shouldn't be any sermonistic approach in the domain of arts.

Emerging out of the special screening of the movie this evening, 'Baishe Srabon' director Srijit Mukherjee said "I liked the way Moinak handled the story, More than a girlie movie, Aami Aar Amar Girlfriends is a humane take on their own domain peopled by three girls and their friends."

"If cuss words are commonplace in everyday conversation, what is wrong in retaining them in our films?.....If boys can use such phrases, same can be true for girls and let's be realistic and rather judge a film on its merits," the critically acclaimed, popular and successful young director said.

Director Abhijit Guha, one of the frontline makers churning out new age urban but essentially Bengali movies like Cross Connection said "the film bears Moinak's unmistakable stamp as evident in his previous flicks 'Bedroom' and 'Maach Misti and More and sets up a new genre."

Director Moinak said "relieved that the film got released and the Censor went by our logic. But we must ponder if some of the regulations and rules will still be around in this age and times!,"

"If boys can have their own world, if there can be movies like 3 Idiots and Delhi Belly in Bollywood, and these are perfectly okay as the youngsters could connect with the characters, girls can also have their own ideas of fun. I support what Moinak said girls are not from Mars," Raima Sen, one of the three female leads, said..

"I have seen how men react and ogle at women, who, however, prove to be far more level headed and mature," Mainak said about the film which brings to the fore the psyche of three career-driven, city girls, having different personalities with their own humane minds

"We had co-produced Moinak's Maach Misti and More. He is one director having a quirky, intelligent style of film making. He has also been part of the works of many arthouse directors in Bengal. Our tryst will continue," said Satrajit Sen of Tripod Entertainment floated by a group of new age actors and directors and friends of Tollywood to promote avant garde cinema. Produced by Aditya Productions the film dwells on the domain of a girls' world starring celluloid diva Raima Sen, Parno Mitra and Swastika Mukherjee.
