Cyberabad police files suo-motu case against Gulf Oil Corp

The Cyberabad police filed a suo-motu case against Gulf Oil Corporation today in connection with last night's explosion on its premises which killed two people.

According to T Yoganand, DCP, Madhapur Zone, a case was registered under Section 304 (A) of the Indian Penal Code (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and relevent sections under the Explosives Act.

Two workers were killed in an explosion at the premises of the Gulf Oil Corporation Ltd, formerly IDL Industries, at Kukatpally here last night.

"We have not arrested anyone in this case so far and an investigation is on," Yoganand told PTI.
 

Based on the outcome of the investigation and also experts' opinion, the police may question senior officials of the company, he said.
