Dacoits loot jewellery shops, 7 cops injured during chase

The gang, which had looted jewellery worth several lakhs from local jewellers lined along North Thakurpara Road, was fleeing in a car when the patrol team gave them a chase, police said.

As the dacoits hurled bombs seven cops were hit by splinters, they said.

The injured policemen were taken to hospital, where the condition of four was stated to be serious.
