A day-long conference of Income Tax officials from the southern region today deliberated on the strategies for augmenting I-T collections, issues related to the Income Tax Business Application (ITBA) among others.
The challenges and formulation of roadmap for 'Faceless and jurisdiction-less' environment, budget targets, re-engineered process of assessments, formulating standardised and industry-specific questionnaires, upcoming innovations and expected changes in the functioning of the I-T department were also discussed, a release issued here said.
The conference was attended by Principal Chief Commissioners of Income-tax, Chief Commissioners of Income tax, Principal Commissioners of Income-tax and Commissioners of Income-tax of the South Zone comprising the regions of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Karnataka, Goa and Kerala, it added.
