Deepa Peravai celebrates SC verdict convicting Sasikila

: Deepa Peravai, a forum floated by supporters of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's niece Deepa Jayakumar, burst crackers and distributed sweets here after conviction of AIADMK General Secretary V K Sasikala in the Disproportionate Assets case by the Supreme court.

"The conviction is a divine verdict and Sasikala's designs to dismantle democracy was smashed to pieces by the Supreme Court's verdict, convener of the peravai's Puducherry unit, P M Bhaskar told reporters here.

Sasikala was today convicted by the Supreme Court, which set aside the Karnataka High Court verdict acquitting her in the 19-year-old Disproportionate Assets case, that also involved late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
