Press Trust of India New Delhi
Delhi Autorickshaw Sangh, a unit of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, today took out a rally in favour of demonetisation, as it slammed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other leaders, including West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, for opposing the scrapping of high value currency.

About 400 autorickshaw drivers participated in the rally which was taken out from Shahid Bhagat Singh Park near Delhi Gate to ITO Crossing here.

Although the rally was scheduled to pass through Delhi Secretariat and Banga Bhawan, the Delhi Police barricaded them at ITO Crossing and did not allow them to proceed.

Rajendra Soni, general secretary of Delhi Autorickshaw Sangh, said there has been a 25 per cent reduction in the number of passengers due to demonetisation despite that autorickshaw drivers support the move which is "in favour of the country".

The rally was taken out with the national flag atop the autorickshaws.
