Delhi-based financier's body found in car trunk

A 70-year-old Delhi based financier was strangulated by three youths and his body was found in a car trunk in Shamli district, police said today.

The body of Ratan Chandra Papneja was recovered from a car during a regular patrolling at Shamli-Muzaffarnagar highway yesterday, they said.

Three persons, identified as Promod, Rohit and Gaurav, were arrested by Babri police in this connection. The perpetrators said to have confessed about the crime.

During the interrogation, it came into light that Papreja was strangulated to death by the three accused after they had entered into a heated argument, police said.

The accused, who are also financiers, then took his body in the car to dispose it into the Ganga canal in Muzaffarnagar district, Police said.
 

The car was intercepted by the police during highway checking drive and culprits were nabbed. Police has registered a case against them, official said adding, that the body has been sent for the postmortem.
