The Delhi government will get the Johad (pond) in West Delhi's Uttam Nagar area cleaned under the 'Swachh Bharat Mission' and converted into a living lake surrounded by greenery, a senior official said today.
"Johad at Om Vihar in Uttam Nagar in West Delhi will soon be cleansed by removing the filth and garbage. It will be converted into a living lake surrounded by greenery," Delhi Chief Secretary DM Spolia said.
Under the re-development plan of Johad under Swachh Bharat Mission, the garbage would be removed, surrounding area cleaned within the stipulated time frame work and the lake would be developed for dedicating it to the people of the area, he added.

Spolia further informed that necessary funds for development of the lake would be released by Delhi government either from the Delhi Rural Development Board or from the Gaon Sabha Fund.
The re-development plan was announced by him after he inspected the on-going cleanliness drive in various localities of West Delhi area.
He also inspected the e-Registrar building at District Centre in Janakpuri where he checked cleanliness in rooms of officers, corridors, toilets, the various service providing windows for public dealing and the entire building complex.
Later, he also took stock of situation of the cleanliness drive in the Chanakya place residential and market area. He instructed the officers to maintain the tempo of cleanliness drive to ensure that the garbage in every area and locality was removed and cleanliness in the localities was maintained properly.
Spolia announced that he will conduct inspections in the other unauthorised colonies also to ensure proper cleanliness and up-keep of these colonies and appealed to the citizens to maintain the infrastructure of the city Delhi by becoming the part of cleanliness drive under Swachh Bharat Mission.
Meanwhile, Secretary PWD Arun Baroka inspected the fly-overs, roads, ring roads, under passes, sub-ways, foot over bridges and ascertained the position of the cleanliness and maintenance of the infrastructure of PWD.
Secretary Health SCL Das conducted inspections in Aruna Asif Ali Hospital at Civil Lines, Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital at Mangol Puri, Lok Nayak Hospital, Rao Tula Ram Hospital among others.
