Union Minister Jitendra Singh today assured Badhowal residents that he would look into their demands to carry out repair of their houses near the Field Ammunition Depot there.
A delegation of Badhowal residents, accompanied by Union Information and Broadcasting Minister and local MP Manish Tewari, met Singh who was here in connection with the inauguration of the National Youth Festival.
Tewari told the Minister of State for Defence that the residents were facing problems as there was a total freeze on construction activity around the ammunition depot, according to a press release issued here.

The local MP urged Singh to take a considerate view on the issue and said he understood the sensitivity of the issue as it concerned ammunition dump.
Tewari said, at least the residents should be allowed to have repairs of their houses wherever needed and necessary.
Singh assured the delegation that he would examine the matter and would ensure that everything possible is done at the earliest.
