Do not follow UPA line on Lankan issues, PMK urges NDA govt

A delegation led by PMK MP Anbumani Ramadoss today External Affairs Minister and demanded that the government should not toe the line which was adopted by the previous regime on issues concerning

"should change its policy towards and should not follow the line of the previous government," Ramadoss said following the meeting with Swaraj.

Stating that the reports on NDA's approach towards Sri Lankan affairs had come as a shocker for Tamil Nadu, Ramadoss said the Centre should take the necessary steps to ensure the well-being of Lankan Tamils.

The PMK leader, whose party is part of the alliance, said that Swaraj has assured that the Centre understands the problems of Tamils in the neighbouring island nation.
