Dominic Purcell confirms 'Prison Break' S6 in the works

Dominic Purcell has confirmed the sixth installment of "Prison Break" has been greenlit.

The 47-year-old actor, who plays the lead Lincoln Burrows in the prison drama, which returned earlier this year, took to Instagram to announce the news.

"@prisonbreak #prisonbreak 6. In the works," Purcell wrote, alongside the poster of the show.

"Prison Break" ended its four season run in 2009 with Michael Scofield's (Wentworth Miller) death revealed how he survived and was in a Middle Eastern jail throughout this time.

The show's fifth season picked up from there and aired from April 4 to May 30, 2017.
