To pay tributes to legendary singer Manna Dey, public broadcaster Doordarshan has planned a special event at the Siri Fort Auditorium here.
Artists for the event, 'Tujhko Chalna Hoga... Remembering Manna Dey', which will be held at 5.30 pm on Sunday, were chosen through a process of auditions that receive tremendous response, an official statement here said.
Among the 800 applications received, the shortlisted 15 singers and five dance groups would perform Manna Dey's evergreen songs, it added.
The event will be inaugurated by renowned Pt Birju Maharaj and Ustad Amjad Ali Khan while Hans Raj Bhardwaj, former Governor, Karnataka is the special guest of the programme. Prasar Bharati Chairman Dr A Surya Prakash will be the Chief Guest, the statement said.
