Filmmaker Doug Liman is all set to direct superhero series "Crazy Talented" for upcoming streaming service Quibi.

The show will be written by Michael Karnow, best known for penning the novel "Jumper" which was adapted by Liman for the big screen in 2008.

The official plotline of show reads, "The world's most powerful superheroes are trying to stop the world's most devastating threat alien weapons falling into the wrong hands and obliterating life as we know it. At least that's what they've been told."

"Patients in a psych ward are convinced by a charismatic leader that their defects actually are extraordinary 'talents'. He's clearly out of his mind. But just because it's crazy doesn't mean it isn't true."

Liman, who has directed films such as "The Bourne Identity", "Mr and Mrs Smith" and "edge of Tomorrow", will also produce the show through his banner 30 Ninjas, reported Deadline.

Julia Tatlock and Jed Weintrob of 30 Ninjas are the executive producers.

Quibi, co-founded by Hollywood heavyweight Jeffrey Katzenberg and former HP CEO Meg Whitman, is set to launch next year.

The streaming service has already lined-up an impressive slate of projects in collaboration with celebs like Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Lopez, Idris Elba, Chrissy Teigen, Lena Waithe, Don Cheadle, Tyra Banks and Lorne Michaels.
