Press Trust of India New Delhi
Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA) has critized the government for police raid at the house of professor G.N Sai Baba for his alleged Maoist links.

DUTA President Nandita Naraian today said anybody who is protesting against government's selling of land, forest and water and fighting for tribals and the people is being slapped by some "fabricated" charges and locked away just like Binayak Sen and now Sai Baba of DU.

"He is a 90 per cent handicapped teacher but they want to take him outside and interrogate him. Why not in Delhi and what is your intention?. What is the charge and where are the stolen goods that you said will find? Why don't you follow the law?" she said.

She maintained that the professor was a respected teacher but he has been charged with all kinds of things.

Last week, the Maharashtra Police had raided the home of Saibaba, alleging he has links with banned CPI-Maoist.
