East Delhi gets 10 'mohalla' libraries

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today opened 10 'mohalla' libraries in east Delhi.

In a function organized at west Vinod Nagar, Sisodia opened these libraries situated at Patparganj, Kondli, Okhla and Laxmi Nagar.

In a statement, the Delhi government said the initiative 'Kitabgiri' was launched by Bharat Ahshara Social Organization (BASO) which encourages school going children to donate their books.

"This is a unique initiative under which school going children need to participate," he said.

Welcoming the initiative taken by BASO, Sisodia said that the organisation has an aim to set up with 2,800 'mohalla' libraries in different parts of the national capital.
