Eigh hurt as floor of old building collapses

Eight people, including two children and three women, were injured when a floor of an old building crumbled in Vasco town today, police said.

"The incident happened at around 8 PM when entire family was in the house. The fourth floor on which the flat was located came down crashing on the flat located on third floor," a police official said.

The building is a 30-year-old structure, he said.

All the injured, who belonged to same family, were admitted to a government hospital at Chicalim.

Fire and emergency service personnel have evacuated eight families who were living in the building, located in heart of Vasco city.
