Eight children killed in mishap in Udupi dist

Eight students, including six girls, were today killed and 13 others injured when the van in which they were going to their school collided with a private bus in Udupi District, police said.

The victims were aged between 7-13, they said, adding the accident occurred at a junction close to the school at Gangolli.

Thirteen persons, including the driver of the van, were injured in the mishap.

While six injured had been admitted to a hospital in Manipal, the rest at Kundapur, police added.
