Eight-year-old girl dies after falling in sewer line

An eight-year-old girl died while two other children were injured when they fell into an under-construction sewer line at Madehganj locality in Hasangaj area here today.

Eight-year-old Saumya was playing with two other children when they fell into a 15-20 feet sewer line, Hasanganj SHO Dinesh Singh said.

By the time locals took them out, Saumya had died, police said.

The two other children had been admitted to a hosptial, where their condition is stated to be stable, police said.

Additional City Magistrate Shailendra Mishra announced that a compensation would be given to the family of the victim girl.
