Veteran musician Elton John will deliver this year's the Diana, Princess of Wales, Lecture on HIV on June 8 in London.
The UK's National AIDS Trust launched the lecture in 1999 in memory of longtime patron Princess Diana, who spent much of her time in the public eye supporting and de-stigmatising AIDS patients.
According to Billboard, John, 71, will set out a vision for an Aids-free future as he calls on governments and the private sector to fulfil the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal to end the disease worldwide by 2030.
The lecture will be delivered in partnership with the Elton John AIDS Foundation, which the singer founded in 1992
"I am delighted to be able to deliver this lecture and to remember the enormous contribution Diana, Princess of Wales made to this cause.
"In the quarter century since the Elton John AIDS Foundation was established, the global AIDS fight has changed beyond recognition. Yet tolerance and courage has never been more important in the fight to create an AIDS-free generation and make the world a more accepting place for those living with HIV," John said in a statement.
The legendary musician was a close friend of the late Princess Diana, who died in a 1997 car crash. He is also a longtime fundraiser for various HIV-related causes.
