Light to moderate rain and thunderstorm occurred at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh even as heat wave continued to prevail in the state.
The maximum rainfall in the state was recorded at Kaiserganj (4cm), Mankapur (2cm), Basti (2cm), Lakhimpur Kheri (2cm) and Maharajganj (1cm), the Met office said.
Day temperature markedly fell in Varanasi and Allahabad divisions, appreciably fell in Gorakhpur, Faizabad, Lucknow and Bareilly divisions, and no major change was recorded in the remaining divisions of the state.
Orai city was the hottest in the state with a high of 47.5 degrees Celsius.
Rain and thunderstorm accompanied by gusty winds are very likely at isolated places in the state over the next couple of days, the Met office said.
