Engineer attempts to commit suicide

A senior engineer of a state power utility company today allegedly attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison, police said.

Balbir Singh, a Deputy Chief Engineer posted at border zone for Punjab State Power Corporation Limited, was admitted to a private hospital where his condition was stated to be critical, they said.

Singh had been depressed for the last few days, they said.
