Ex-BJP chief of Arunachal passes away

Former president of BJP Arunachal Pradesh unit Kangir Jamoh died at a hospital in Guwahati following prolonged illness, family sources said today.

Jamoh who was also president of Adi Baane Kebang, the highest body of the Adi tribe, was 67 and is survived by his wife, three sons and two daughters.

He had served as president of BJP state unit from 1998 to 2003.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu has condoled the demise of Jamoh.

"In his demise, Arunachal has lost a first generation leader, a social activist and a great gentleman," he said.

The Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service officer turned political leader died yesterday.
