Ex IAS officer J Satyanarayana appointed part-time UIDAI chief

Former IAS officer J Satyanarayana was today appointed as part-time chairperson of Unique Identification Authority of (UIDAI), tasked with issuing numbers.

The post has been lying vacant following resignation of co-founder Nandan Nilekani's resignation in 2014.

The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved Satyanarayana's appointment as part-time chairperson of UIDAI, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training said.
