Excise department employee arrested for accepting bribe

An excise department employee was today arrested by the sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 2,000.

Aamilal Meghwal (52), a native of Solana village in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan, was caught while accepting the bribe, Neeraj Gupta, Circle In charge (CI), ACB Baran said.

The accused had demanded a bribe from one Kamlesh Meena, a resident of nearby Nemthur village, to save his father from being implicated in a false case of possessing illicit liquor, the CI said.

A trap was laid by ACB, Baran after verifying a complaint filed by Meena on September 19 following which Meghwal was apprehended and the bribe amount was also seized, he said.
 

The accused excise department employee would be produced before the ACB court tomorrow, the CI added.
