An exhibition, highlighting the critical milestones achieved in the country, in response to the HIV epidemic in India in the last 30 years, was held today on the eve of the World AIDS Day.
Besides, the exhibition, a talk show and cultural performances were also held at a function themed on -- Increasing Impact through Transparency, Accountability, and Partnerships -- at the Central Park in Connaught Place in central Delhi, organisers said.
India HIV Aids Alliance, an NGO, also awarded a few personalities, who have contributed to the fight against this deadly disease.

"The highlights of the event were a visual exhibition tracing the journey of the campaign against HIV and critical milestones achieved in India, scintillating performances by community groups and talk sessions," the NGO said in a statement.
"According to the UNAIDS, there are currently 36.7 million people living with HIV worldwide, and in 2016, 1 million people died from HIV-related causes," it said.
