Fire breaks out in Civil Secretariat building

A fire broke out this evening on the eighth floor of the Civil Secretariat building here, but no one was injured in the incident.

According to Chandigarh fire officer Mangal Chand, the fire broke out in the Finance General Department of the Haryana Government causing some demage to equipments and documents kept there.

Seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the flames were brought under control, he said, adding that an electrical short circuit may have caused the fire.
