Five arrested for stealing motorcycles in UP

Five persons, including a school headmaster, were arrested and 10 stolen motorcycles recovered from their possession in Civil Lines area here, police said today.

Acting on a tip off, five persons, including a primary school headmaster, were arrested and 10 stolen motorcycles recovered from their possession last evening, CO City Sanjiv Vajpayee said.

Praveen, a government primary school headmaster, Sudhir, Omkar, Surjit and Mujammil, allegedly stole the motorcycles, he said.

A licensed revolver and live cartridges were also seized, he said.

Meanwhile, the education department has started departmental action against the headmaster after his arrest.

Zila Basic Education Officer KK Singh said that Praveen would be suspended for his act.
