Five children injured in celebratory firing

The victims, aged between 6 years and 16 years, were sitting near the venue of the ceremony when accused Vikram started firing, Kavinagar Station Incharge Sudhir Tyagi said.

In an inebriated condition, he was allegedly not conscious of when he trained his gun on the children, he said.

They were admitted to a nearby private hospital and their condition is said to be stable, they said, adding that the accused has been arrested and his gun seized.
