Five held with arms, ammunition in Jamui

Security forces today arrested five persons carrying arms and ammunition at Thadi jungle more under Lakshmipur police station of Bihar's Jamui district.

Three country made pistols, a 2 kg can bomb, eight cartridges and two detonators were seized from their possession, Superintendent of Police Jayant Kant said.

A four-wheeler was also recovered from them by a team of security forces comprising personnel of CRPF, SSB, STF and District Armed Police.

The team, which was passing through Gangta jungles on Jamui-Kharagpur main road intercepted the vehicle and recovered arms and ammunition from it, Kant said.

The arrested persons had hatched a conspiracy to carry out robbery near Thadi jungle more, the SP said.
