As many as five Sikshya Sahayaks (para teachers), engaged in different primary schools in Dasarathapur block of Odisha's Jajpur district, were today removed from service on charge of producing fake caste certificates to get the jobs, official sources said.

Earlier, complaints against the five teachers were made by the public.

A state level committee had inquired the allegations and found that the caste certificates produced by the five candidates were forged. The state government directed the district collector to take appropriate action against the accused teachers who had produced the fake certificates to get the job.

Accordingly, Jajpur collector Anil Kumar Samal directed the district project coordinator (DPC), Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) to remove the teachers from their service and take legal action against them.

"After being directed by the district collector I have removed five Sikhsya Sahayaks from their service for producing fake caste certificates to get the job. I have already lodged FIRs against the 5 terminated persons in Mangalpur police station after their disengagement from services," DPC of Sarva Sikshya Abhiyan Narayan Chandra Dhal said.

The terminated teachers have been identified as Trilochan Das of Gunduchipada nodal upper primary school, Ugrasen Das of Jayantara upper primary school, Anita Das of Kanikapada nodal upper primary school, Pravat Kumar Das of Tentulidiha nodal upper primary school and Satyabrata Das of Gopabandhu Vidyapitha at Icchapur of Dasarathapur block, official sources said today.

All these candidates were selected in the recruitment drive held in 2010, he said.
