Fmr MP Gorakhnath Pandey's son gets life sentence in rape case

A local court here awarded life sentence to the son of former MP Gorakhnath Pandey and three others in connection with the gangrape of a minor in 2014.

The son of the former MP, Anand Pandey, and three others had abducted a 16 year-old girl on the night of July 25, 2014 in Koirauna police station area and raped her inside a secluded school building, the prosecution said.

ADJ (Fast Track Court) Chandra Shekhar Prasad, after hearing both sides, awarded life imprisonment to the four accused besides imposing a fine of Rs 1 lakh each, a prosecution lawyer said.

Gorakhnath Pandey is a former BSP MP from Bhadohi. He had later joined BJP.
