Fog affects normal life at many places in Punjab, Haryana

A thick blanket of fog early today affected normal life at many places in Punjab and Haryana even as the minimum temperature hovered slightly above the normal levels at most places in the two states.

Fog reduced visibility at many places in the two states including Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Ambala, Hisar, Karnal, Gurgaon and Faridabad.

The movement of vehicular traffic on several roads, particularly on the highways, was also affected due to fog.

Chandigarh recorded a low of 9.2 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.

In Haryana, Ambala recorded a low of 9.7 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal while Hisar's minimum settled at 7.1 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal.
 

Karnal recorded a low of 8 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal limits.

In Punjab, Amritsar registered a low of 6.8 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.

Ludhiana recorded a low of 8.3 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal while Patiala registered a low of 8.5 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal.

Pathankot registered 10 degrees Celsius while Bathinda recorded 7.2 degrees Celsius, with both being above the normal temperature.
