Former BJP legislator attacked in Gurgaon

A former BJP MLA from Uttar Pradesh was allegedly shot at and injured by some unknown persons near Crowne Plaza in Sector 29 area here today.

Ram Chandra Maurya, a former MLA from Mirzapur, was sitting in his BMW car when some unknown people fired at him this evening, police said.

A bullet hit his leg, police said, adding that the attackers reportedly took his gold bracelet and some cash, SHO of Sector 29 police station said.

Maurya was rushed to a private hospital. Probe into the matter is on, the SHO said.
