Choudhary today joined the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantric).
JVM president Babulal Marandi said Choudhary had worked well in the police department and had confidence to work better in politics.
"Party president Babulal Marandi spoke inspiring words and I pray to God to give me strength that I will not disappoint anyone in my work, Choudhary said.
Choudhary, a former additional director general of police last year took voluntary retirement to join politics.
"Now it is up to the party to decide about it," Choudhary said when asked about his desire to contest the 2014 general elections from the Ranchi seat.
