Fortis Healthcare today reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 22.61 crore for the quarter ended June 30.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 25.26 crore for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, Fortis Healthcare said in a BSE filing.
Consolidated total income of the company stood at Rs 1,214.22 crore for the quarter under consideration. It stood at Rs 1,154.15 crore for the same period a year ago.

"We have had an encouraging start to the year with an improvement in our financials and a healthy growth in our operating profitability," Fortis Healthcare CEO Bhavdeep Singh said.
In the subsequent quarters, the company believes it will witness additional gains as it reinforces efforts and initiatives across all regions, he added.
"The consolidated financial results include financial results of FHTL from October 13, 2016, hence figures for the current quarter are not comparable with figures for the quarter ended June 30, 2016," Fortis Healthcare said.
Its board gave in-principle approval to enable the company for raising of funds up to Rs 5,000 crore, subject to the approval of the shareholders and other regulatory approvals, Fortis Healthcare added.
Shares of the company today closed 1.37 per cent higher at Rs 165.95 per scrip on BSE.
