Four booked for wrongfully confining man, son in UP

Four persons have been booked for allegedly wrongfully confining a man and his son here and abetting the suicide of his daughter, police said today.

The victim's wife, Sanju Devi, had alleged that her husband Dev Prakash and son were held hostage by the four accused who are also owners of a company, they said.

While Prakash had returned home, his son is still missing, they added.

The woman's daughter Mahima had committed suicide yesterday as she was upset over the disappearance of her brother who she alleged were being held hostage by some influential people.

SP (City) Rajesh Kumar Singh said following a complaint by the victim's family, a case was registered against the four accused under IPC section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 342 (wrongful confinement), 306 (abetment of suicide), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
