Four persons were injured, one of them critically, when a wild bear attacked them in Jhab village of central Gujarat's Dahod district, forest officials said today.

The incident took place last night when the bear strayed into the village and attacked a person, identified as Soma Nayak, they said.

Meanwhile, three villagers got into the saving act and suffered minor injuries during the bid.

Later, after the forest officials were being informed, they caged the wild animal and released it back into the forest.

Nayak has been shifted in serious condition to SSG hospital in Vadodara while the remaining victims were being treated at Devgadh Baria government hospital.
