In a bid to enhance the bargaining power of farmers in Odisha, NABARD has set up at least 100 Farmers Producers Organisations (FPOs) in Odisha, said its chief general manager K C Panigrahi

The FPOs are registered under Companies Act 2013, he said.

Nabard also organised a three-day exhibition here in order to provide these FPOs an opportunity to exhibit and sell their farm produce like pulses, millets, vegetables, spices and others.

The exhibition, called 'Krushi Mela', was inaugurated coinciding with the celebration of International Women's Day yesterday and it would provide a platform to women farmers to showcase their products.

Panigrahi said NABARD was helping in improving the livelihood of women through various interventions like SHG, wadi, watersheds and FPOs.
