Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section dropped by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following excess enquiries by truck operators amid a drop in arrivals of cargo.
Transporters said heavy availability of trucks in the markets, coupled with tight cargo movements, mainly led to the fall in freight rates of some centres.
Delhi to Guwahati, Bangalore and Coimbatore freight rates moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 53,000, Rs 63,000 and Rs 70,000, respectively.
Rates to Patna, Kolkata, Baroda and Jaipur also went down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 28,000, Rs 31,000, Rs 26,000 and Rs 17,000, respectively.
