Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section for select destinations were up by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today amid tight position of trucks against pick up in cargo movements.

Transporters said less availability of trucks mainly pushed up freight rates for some destinations.

Delhi to Jaipur and Ludhiana freight rates moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 17,000 and Rs 19,000.

Rates to Chandigarh and Gwalior also went up by a similar margin to Rs 18,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively.
