About 200 persons, including former welfare minister P Rajavelu (AINRC), were taken into custody when they staged an agitation seeking reinstatement of 115 daily wage workers, dismissed by government last year.
Rajavelu said the government was delaying reinstatement of the 115 daily wage workers of the Boat House of the Puducherry Tourism Development Corporation.
Representatives of various outfits and dismissed workers were among those who participated in the agitation, police said.
