Gang of vehicle lifters busted, 32 stolen vehicles recovered

Police have busted an alleged inter-state gang of vehicle lifters and recovered 32 stolen vehicles near Bhopa in the district here, police said today.

Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted a car and arrested four gang members last evening, Deputy Superintendent of Police S Prakash said, adding that an illegal firearm was also recovered from their possession.

The vehicle lifters - Amrish, Dhanpal, Vinod and Akash - were active in Uttrakhand, Delhi and Western Uttar Pradesh, the Deputy SP said, adding 32 stolen bikes were seized from their possession.

A case has been registered against the vehicle lifters, Prakash said, adding that police is interrogating them.
