German transport minister briefs US counterpart on steps to address VW scandal

Germany's transport minister was in Washington to brief his US counterpart on the steps Berlin is taking to address the pollution-cheating scandal roiling Volkswagen, officials said.
Germany's Alexander Dobrindt met Anthony Foxx to discuss Volkswagen, the auto giant which has been under fire since revelations that it purposely evaded US emissions limits.
"I offered the US government to bring them up to date on a regular basis," said Dobrindt, according to a statement from German officials.

"I also invited experts of US agencies to come to Germany to take a look at our procedures."
Today Dobrindt will meet representatives of the US Environmental Protection Agency.
