Goa Forward Party (GFP) today demanded that state government should make public the "crucial" investigation report on the affairs of Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) prepared by former bureaucrat N D Agarwal.

"Goa government should come clean and make public the report by N D Agarwal on functioning of Goa Medical College and Hospital," party's senior leader Jayesh Salgaoncar told reporters here.

He claimed that the party's spokesperson Durgadas Kamat had exposed various illegalities in GMCH following which the Goa government had constituted a one-man inquiry panel headed by Agarwal.

Salgaoncar claimed that Kamat had exposed irregularities at the GMCH and had submitted a report prepared by him to Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Francis D'Souza.

He also said D'Souza was on record praising Kamat saying he has been doing "good work".

"People of Goa want to know what is wrong with the GMC as they are suffering badly because of the near total collapse of the premier medical institution of the state. Not just the GMCH, but the state of affairs at many health centres across the state is also pathetic," alleged Salgaoncar.

Kamat, who was also present during the briefing, said reliable sources at GMCH have clarified that the N D Agarwal Commission has submitted its final report, of over 400 pages, in the first week of September 2016.

"In the interim report submitted in the month of June 2016, the N D Agarwal Commission had agreed with most of the points, which I had raised in my report to the Deputy Chief Minister," Kamat claimed.
