Girl commits suicide by jumping into canal

Pinki (20), a student of a private college in Pathankot, jumped into the canal at around 5.30 pm, Kanwa Station House Officer (SHO) Ashwani Sharma said, adding the police reached the site as soon as they received a phone call from an eyewitness.

The police are inquiring into the circumstances which led her to take the extreme step and efforts continued to retrieve her body from the canal," Sharma said.
