Gold worth Rs 27.83 lakh seized at Hyd airport

Customs officials today seized 931 grams of gold, valued at Rs 27.83 lakh, from a passenger at the Rajiv Gandhi international airport here.
Based on a specific information, the officers of the Air Intelligence Unit seized the gold bars from the passenger who arrived from Jeddah via Bahrain here, a Customs officer said.
"The passenger had concealed six gold bars inside a television set under the printed circuit board and two more gold bars in the box of a cell phone," the officer said. Further investigation is on.
