Gondiya river mishap: Driver's body found after 45 hours

The body of a tanker driver who was swept away along with the vehicle in the Pangoli river was recovered today after 45 hours of a joint operation, officials said.

The body of Gautam Patil (48) was found 15 kms away from the spot of the incident, they said.

The incident occurred on Tuesday night when the tanker driven by Patil was swept away in swirling waters of the river on KamthaAmgaon Road in the district.

A joint operation was undertaken by District Disaster Management Authority and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) on Tuesday night itself.

The tanker was found two kms away from the spot of the accident.
